Working Principle
A methanol generator set is a device that converts the chemical energy of methanol into electrical energy. It generally uses an internal combustion engine to burn methanol to generate heat energy, which then drives the piston to move, converting the heat energy into mechanical energy. After that, a generator is used to convert the mechanical energy into electrical energy. Methanol is mixed with air in the internal combustion engine and then ignited by a spark plug, compression ignition, or other methods to release energy and drive the engine to operate.
- Engine: It is the core component of the generator set, specially designed to burn methanol as fuel. It has components such as a fuel system adapted to the characteristics of methanol, pistons, and cylinders to ensure efficient and stable combustion and power output.
- Generator: Connected to the output shaft of the engine, it usually uses a synchronous generator or an asynchronous generator to convert the mechanical energy generated by the engine into electrical energy and output stable alternating current.
- Control System: Used to monitor and control the operating status of the generator set, including the monitoring of parameters such as voltage, frequency, oil temperature, and water temperature, as well as realizing functions such as automatic start - up, shutdown, and protection, to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the generator set.
- Fuel System: It includes a methanol fuel tank, fuel pump, filter, etc. It is responsible for delivering methanol from the fuel tank to the engine, filtering and metering the fuel, and ensuring that the engine gets clean and an appropriate amount of fuel.
- Cooling System: Generally composed of a radiator, cooling fan, water pump, water pipes, etc. It reduces the temperature of the engine by circulating the cooling liquid, prevents the engine from overheating, and ensures that it operates within the normal working temperature range.
- Exhaust System: Composed of an exhaust pipe, muffler, etc., it discharges the exhaust gas after the engine burns and reduces the exhaust noise.
